Days 298-??? Time off

For those following my 365 day challenge, I require a little time off. Last night playing sand volleyball, I tore my rotator cuff and the doctor is making me wear a sling. So, I'm one handed for a while until who knows when. I hope to rejoin you, my fellow photographers, soon to finish the challenge. I will continue to watch our facebook group and provide CC. Happy picture taking, friends.

Days 287,88, 89/365 Party time

This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to be a photographer at an Indian Sari party. A "coming of age" party for an Indian girl. It was nicely organized & decorated by the parents. I had a great time being a part of the cultural experience. Here are 3 pictures to catch me up. If you check my facebook page, I have more posted. Click Here for FB link.

Day286/365 Sleepy head

Today I am practicing external, off-camera flash with bright background. Here, my dog sleeps in one of her favorite spots in the house. By the back door in the sunshine.

282-285/365 Random

I have been taking pictures, have you noticed that I missed a couple days?

I'm so pleased with the outcome of my garden - picture 1 - Carrots (still thinning to produce bigger ones) - 50mm, ISO200, 1/1000, F4
2 - Watermelon - NOT from my garden, but wanted to play with indoor, off camera flash for a shoot I'm doing Saturday (stay tuned for pictures from that) -

3 - My session with my girls. I found a lovely location I will most likely be using again with clients

282/365 Take 2

I took my girls out for pictures a couple days ago for my mantle and the sun came out after being cloudy all day. SO, we went out again today and we were much happier with them. My youngest, however, apparently has a blinking problem with flash so I didn't get near the amount I was hoping for. I did get one worthy of printing, so I guess that's good enough.

Here's one of my favorites of my oldest.

281/365 Cheeeeese!

This is from a shoot I did this week. This little girl didn't want to cooperate (like most 3 year olds) and we got pretty silly. I don't like to say "say cheese" but she did it automatically.
Thus, the name of this picture "cheeeese"

280/365 "baby-sitting"

This week our neighbor asked if my oldest would like to take care of her geko. She is a science teacher and it has been the classroom pet for the last nine years. My daughter jumped at the chance to prove that she can handle the responsibility. She loves to feed it live crickets as the geko (Epa) stalks and then pounces on it. I think the close-up of the eye is kind of creepy. I had no idea that the eye would look like a piece of wood. The hole behind it's eye is the ear.

277, 278/365 Family pics and Girls

A little over a year ago, I took this couple's wedding photos. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to TX. Well, they came back to visit friends/family and asked if I could do their family photos. I jumped at the opportunity. I wish all my clients were this easy going.

275, 276/365 Froggy

I'm thankful to have summer break. I've enjoyed having my kids home and doing activities with them. HOWEVER, that means sometimes I get behind. Today, I took their annual summer pictures for my mantle. After we were done, they looked around and found some cute little froggies. These are SOOC.

274/365 Fly Killer

A couple days ago, during the blogpost "Curiosity" I told you how my dog loves to chase/kill flies. Well, today, she was back at it and I managed to catch her in action as she chased it behind the curtain. I happened to like this one in BW.

273/365 Amazing color

I've been trying to notice the small things lately, mainly because of this 365 day challenge and what I might be able to capture. I loved the colors on this dragonfly.

272/365 Curiosity

My dog IS our fly-swatter at home. She chases flies all around the house until it ends up at our back sliding door and eventually kills it. SO, when we were playing outside and she heard a "buzzz", of course, she had to figure out what it was. Thankfully, the bee was patient and did NOT sting her cute little nose.
