271/365 Seeds or Weeds?

I enjoy hiking. It's peaceful, exercise and I really enjoy being in the wilderness. This is some type of seed that I thought had a great texture. Anyone know what this is? (just b/c I like being in the wilderness, doesn't mean I know what everything is :) )

270/365 Clean and beautiful

The Pere Marquette is a clean, frigid, beautiful river. Unfortunately, per my hubby, the fish weren't biting.

269/365 Good ol' USA

Next to our cabin, this flag was hanging...thought I'd take a new angle on the normal flag pic.

263-267/365 Always Catching Up

Summer is crazy with this 365 blog. Here are a few pics to catch me up. We recently went to a cabin in Baldwin, MI for a little R&R and to unplug from the world.

262/365 DragonFly

Yesterday I was lucky and found a dragonfly willing to be my model for nearly 10 minutes. It even flew off, grabbed lunch, and came back to the same dead flower stem. I couldn't decide which to share, so here's a collage.

260,261/365 Snuggles and Bugs

Today I have two very different pictures. My youngest was cuddled in a blanket (just home from swimming and cold) and Zoe came to cuddle with her. I love when she does that, so I had to take a pic. - Metadata: 105mm, ISO2500, f4, 1/160

2nd picture - What was going to be a flower picture, ended up seeing multiple Japanese beetles and decided to go for the MACRO instead. - Metadata: 105mm, ISO2500, F16, 1/400

258,259/365 Bubbles Take 1...Take 2

My girls LOVE bubbles. Here's a shot of my youngest as she plays. I was going for a different angle than the typical "blow bubble" and found it difficult to get the bubbles in focus, so I went with focus on her face instead.

Then, pic2, is of a bubble floating away...manual focus b/c my camera couldn't focus that quickly on a moving object before it popped. If you look closely, you can see my reflection as well as my daughter in the bubble.

257/365 Green pepper

I know, I'm obsessed with garden pictures right now. Mainly b/c I'm running out of creative juices with what to take photos of. I will get out of this rut. Really :)

255,256/365 Fun with Veggies

I'm very proud that I can go pick veggies out of my garden and put them on the dinner table. My cucumbers have outgrown the trellis and have found their way to my downspout to grab on to and continue to grow. My tomato plants are outgrowing the cages I have put around them and am excited to have them starting to ripen.

254/350 Can I see?

The family I took yesterday was so sweet. I wanted to share a candid of the little boy. He came up to me after taking a few pictures (can't talk much) and asked to see the pictures on the back of my camera. I showed him and he tried to swipe to the next picture. Made me laugh.

Day 251/365 Bean N Berries

If you have been following my blog, you know that I am NO gardener. However, this year I decided to try my hand at a SMALL (4'x8') veggie/fruit garden. I gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised it is going so well. We have been picking a few strawberries here and there for a few weeks. Today is my first "batch" of green beans. Its probably one serving, but hey, I'm learning. SO, out with the strawberries next year and who knows what else I may plant.

249/365 Finalist

About a month ago, I had the opportunity to take some photos for a local business called "Sweet Blessings, Custom Cupcakes". I then submitted one of my photos to a photo contest (topic, food). Today found out that my photo is a finalist! The camera store hosting the contest has blown up the pic to 16x20 and shown in the town's Art Walk where the people get to vote for their favorite. You know where I'll be on Saturday :)

248/365 Bird on a Wire

Nights like these make me wish we lived in the country with no other homes around so I could watch the sunset as it disappeared over the horizon. I was looking out my back door and noticed this lone bird on the telephone/electrical wire with the clouds behind it. I realize I could have decreased my ISO even more, but was happy with the exposure, so I left it alone.

239,240/365 NON-fishy pictures

I thought I'd give you something else other than fishing pictures today.

First is a MACRO of birch tree bark - While I was sitting waiting for my hubby to catch some fish I looked around to see what I could take a photo of.

Second - Geese that hung out around our cabin
